How to save recipes from Instagram
Instagram's own Saved tab keeps the post, not the recipe: the ingredients are buried in a caption, and finding it again means scrolling. Pin a Pie reads the caption and turns it into a proper recipe with an ingredient list and steps.
- Copy the post's link. In Instagram, open the post, tap the share icon (the paper plane) and choose Copy link. Reels work the same way.
- Paste it into Pin a Pie. Open Pin a Pie, go to the New tab, paste the link into Import recipe and tap Import.
- Check the recipe. Pin a Pie fills in the title, ingredients, steps and the post's photo. Fix anything it misread, and add a time or servings if you like.
- Save it to a cookbook. Under Save to Cookbooks, pick one or more cookbooks, then tap Publish — or Save as draft to keep it just for you for now.
Good to know
- If the recipe is only spoken in the video, Pin a Pie still saves the post and its caption, so you can type the rest in.
- Private accounts can't be imported — the post has to be public.
- Quantities are scaled and converted for you later: switch between metric and imperial, or change the number of servings, on the recipe itself.
